The studies have shown that there were a lot of cases when children refused to go to school, due to the fact that the teacher did not have the proper behavior. There are teachers who tend to be very harsh with their students and to make them feel uncomfortable during classes. On the other hand, a good teacher should know how to communicate with his students and how to be a good friend of them without forgetting to show the pupils that the authority is still in his hands. And sometimes this is not such an easy thing to do.
Another quality of a good teacher is the fact that he or she should know how to make the students understand every lesson, no matter how difficult it is, or at least to make the students curious to discover and learn other things related to the primary schools’ discipline.
Most of the primary schools in Dubai, especially the private ones, are interested in promoting the non-formal education. The concept of non-formal education first appeared in the 60s and it came as a complement to formal education, which taught in the educational institutes such as primary schools, secondary schools or even universities.
A universally accepted definition of non-formal education does not exist yet, but it is understood as any action organized outside the school system, which forms a bridge between knowledge taught by teachers and the real practice. This is the reason why, in Dubai parents are more and more interested in primary schools that offer their children this kind of education.
Some of the most popular activities for students, when it comes to non-formal education, are the visits to different places, such as museums where children can learn a lot of things only by getting in contact with people who work there and who tell them about the aspects related to their jobs. Another interesting activity are the trips or the school camps where children are taught a lot of things regarding the nature, the historically aspects, the geography of the United Arab Emirates and so on.
