The fish oils are a healthy source because they contain two essential fatty acids which are valuable as nutrients for brain and for the nervous system cells. Also people think that the fish, unlike beef, chicken meat or pork, contains a greater amount of healthy fats which are important for the proper functioning of the brain, heart and blood vessels.

In a recent study, people who were recovered after a heart attack were advised to have a healthier diet. Some of them chose to eat two servings of frozen fish per week and the studies showed that they got to feel better. It is important to know that cleaning the fish, even the frozen one, is an unpleasant procedure, but it is a must. The fish is cleaned in the following direction: from the tail to the head. If some scales come off harder, the fish should be left for 30 seconds in a bowl with hot water, and then put in a cold water bowl. The cleaning of the fish is better to be made by using a special knife.

There are, however, some persons who do not like fish because of its bad smell. But it is recommended to marinate the fish with some dry wine, vinegar and lemon juice. Then it should be covered and kept in the fridge for a while. It is proved that the fish become more juicy and its smell more agreeable. It is also known the fact that cold-water fish such as salmon and tuna contain more fatty acids than fish from warmer waters, such as catfish, trout or pike.
